Who We Are

Launched in January 2014, Stillhouse Press is an independent, student and alumni-led book publisher based in Northern Virginia. Developed as a counterpart to George Mason University’s MFA and BFA Programs, we endeavor to give students the opportunity learn about the publishing industry through applied experience.

In the rapidly changing landscape of small press publishing, we are devoted to craft publishing: the careful development and promotion of works that affirm the enduring power of the written word to engage contemporary social, literary, and cultural conversations.

As a 501(c)(3), we seek support through donations and grants to help further our mission.
