INTERN - OUTREACH & EVENTS
Stillhouse Press is seeking an intern to work with our marketing and publicity team coordinating events, conference appearances, and the promotion of those events, and our new titles, on social media.
TENT JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinate author events (book launches, readings/signings, conferences, etc.)
Work with Media & Comms Assistant to coordinate promotion of events on social media; create Facebook pages for upcoming events.
Work closely with authors and FOS to plan book tours.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with local independent bookstores and reading series. Relay info. regarding readings/events (date, location, social media links) to Media & Comms Assistant for promotion on social media.
Build and maintains a list of past, current, and future venues with contact information and pricing info (located in Google Drive Events folder).
Attend outreach functions, such as our readings, conferences with Stillhouse staff, and places where SP books can be found.
INTERN - MARKETING & PUBLICITY
Assist in the creation of marketing materials (press releases, postcards).
Assist Director with mailing and fulfillment of physical ARCs
Read all new titles. Consider: Who is the target audience? What kind of imagery does the book evoke? What is it trying to say?
Write press kit/releases announcing publication; send to Director for edits.
Help organize Stillhouse events and promote on social media.
Draft weekly posts for Facebook and Twitter (posts are due to Director of M&C by Sunday, 5pm).
Highlight publications/events for Stillhouse authors.
Add to and maintain Friends of Stillhouse (FOS) list (fellow indie presses, local and indie bookstores, journals, blurbers).
Stay current on events/publication info. for FOS and cross-promote.
Keep a weekly eye on social media analytics.
Research & update social media strategy, actively looking for ways to maximize Stillhouse’s social media presence; engage in conversation with followers.
Attend outreach functions, such as our readings, conferences with Stillhouse staff, and places where SP books can be found.
